Pause

I'm going to take a break from the blog today. A reader of IBBB, Melissa, has passed away from complications of cancer. Melissa had been reading IBBB for a while now and loved my ridiculous Hills recaps. She'd always chime in with some funny comments, that were pretty much funnier than what I was writing. Even when she was living with cancer and going in and out of the hospital she always kept a positive and upbeat attitude.

I didn't personally know Melissa.....just from this site. We exchanged emails once in a while, mainly making fun of The Hills, but I had always admired her positive frame of mind. A while back I tossed around the idea of shutting down the blog and later that day I noticed I was getting some traffic from this random messageboard. When I went to it I realized it was an online cancer support group and Melissa had posted a link to my Hills recaps and all the people on the messageboard were cracking up over my site. It reminded me why I started this blog, which was to make people laugh. Period. I never wanted or cared to really make any money out of it. I just wanted to make some people laugh, make myself laugh, and hopefully one day be able to somehow break in the entertainment industry.

Even though Melissa is not with us anymore, I will always look to her when I need to remember to be strong and really put things in perspective. Life is about life....and not the small things that we allow to weigh us down.

I'll be back on Monday to help rot your brain with my witty banter and craptastic jokes.

Some people will be remembered for great success, some will never get that chance, some will take the time to be gentle, some will always look at the bad side of things. I was touched by your remembrance to Melissa, your gentle words of comfort and understand the sadness I feel from your heart.

You are truely what makes people stronger, rock on IBBB. Keep on.

RIP Melissa.

IBBB never stop blogging. You don't know what you mean to us... I found you in a very sad time, and have told many many others about you, and we talk about you like we know you.. ' Oh Ibbb said this..' you are like a member of the family !! yes I'm crazy.

But seriously, humor is sometimes all we have, and you are mucho humoroso. Case in point, Santa Pubes...quite possibly the funniest thing I have EVER heard.

What you wrote about Melissa is very fitting, you're a good guy.

Very nice tribute. Laughing can be the best medicine. Your blog is definitely a pick me up and something I always look forward to visiting each day. If you can make an impact on just one person, then you have made a difference.

Thank you for remembering Melissa. She lived her life laughing...I don't think she ever watched anything except the comedy channel. She made me laugh every day - even the 2 months she was in the hospital and the 15 days in Hospice...she NEVER stopped smiling and cracking jokes - even though she was in tremendous pain-I'm glad she encouraged you to keep blogging (in a roundabout way)- that's how she lived - to help others and make them laugh!
I'm glad YOU made her laugh....

It is very touching that you had such a connection to Melissa. You are a comic of course and the best comics have had lots of grief and pain in their lifetimes and they are able to take those times and laugh at life. The thing that a lot of folks don't know is that comics are also some of the most sensitive people on the planet. We all love your spirit and humor IBBB,and most of all we love your humanity. Your humanity was on display today and we relish and respect it.

IBBB - never posted here but read you regularly. You excel at what you do - make us laugh and feel a bit connected in a big, big world. Thanks for your humanity and love, as shown in this post. I'm rooting for you to break in the entertainment business, if that is your dream - you have great comedic talent and bring much laughter and joy, and that's what it's all about. Best wishes to you, and to Melissa's family and friends.

IBBB,
I am one of the people who heard about your blog through Melissa's. I love it and beside's her blog, yours is the only one I read. I never commented on Melissa's blog and told her how much I enjoyed it, and I regret that, so I'm not going to miss this opportunity to let you know. Thanks for the blogging...you are hilarious!
